The Nest is a 501c3 nonprofit organization established in 2016 by Melissa and James Morrow.  The Morrows also own and operate Celebrate Birth, a midwifery practice with the only birth center in Polk County, Florida.  For years, Licensed Midwife Melissa heard from families in our community who were interested in the classes and lactation support that Celebrate Birth was providing to their clients.  Melissa has always had a heart for serving her fellow Lakelanders and had long dreamed of creating a place for families to come to for resources, support, and encouragement, beyond what her practice was already providing to the pregnant population.  In the fall of 2016, The Nest became a reality!

Our organization serves the community of Lakeland and its surrounding areas with the goal of enacting positive changes within local families. We offer classes for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and early parenting, as well as private lactation support and a free Weigh In Clinic for basic breastfeeding help.  If there is a resource you are looking for and you are not finding it here on our website, reach out to us either through our contact form below or by giving us a call at 863-578-8633.  We're happy to help and would love the opportunity to support you however we are able.

We also share our space with the Celebrate Birth staff.  They use our office during the week for their admininistrative tasks and clinical appointments.  If you're a Celebrate Birth client, you'll be coming to our office on Tuesdays for your appointments with their midwives.  (Their office line 863-680-2229 rings directly to our building, so it's best to use that number to contact them directly.)
